My wife laughed at that 😂 now that I think of it thinking the same thing. Although I don’t know why but my remote start made them do that little light-dance in the beginning, that is not a feature for anyone interested lol

djdiskino; awesome work. Would you consider making a DIY thread or at least pointers for those of us who might want to try this? Second question: would you mind sharing what brand and type halo rings you used? No worries if its no to either, but never hurts to ask.

Sure, I used a dremel to cut along the seem before the lens of the tail light. I used small cut off wheels (several of them) I mastered the depth that the wheel can go into the plastic. I used a box cutter to clean up the scraps.

Attachment 178087

Here the lights is fully cut open and the plastic removed and the led array removed.

Attachment 178086

After this it’s off to drill holes for wires, prep, paint, epoxy the halos from (diode dynamics) and then to seal back up I used clear silicone adhesive.

Awesome. Thank you so much. Couple more questions, to clarify. Did you wire in a set of dual intensity circuits to get the different levels of brightness? Also, off hand, what size rings did you end up using? "I used a dremel to cut along the seem before the lens of the tail light." Do you mean you cut the lens before the case, the case before the lens, or right on the seam? Sorry, trying to get a good idea of the best line of attack. Also, the attachments are not working (at least not for me). Again, I don't expect an answer, but it never hurts.

The high/low intensities are built into the drivers for the halos. I believe mine were 110 and 90mm. I cut along the seam where the plastic is welded together closest to the lens. I’ll see if I can post these to my Instagram instead since I’m mobile most of the day and this app doesn’t seem to work quite right with the site.

So I ended up winning these similar style taillights in a raffle for $150.

Mine are red & amber switchback.

Decided to throw a smoked tint film on it

Factory oem lights with bluebat gtr cutout overlay. The new taillights still utilize the factory led dots for brake lights

Parking light mode lights up red rings

Amber turn signal rings

Does anyone have these? I was definitely contemplating these but one of the reviews kinda scared me a bit, water leaking in?
