WHere to mount ballasts for fogs on '09?

Hey guys,

I picked up a 4500k fog kit from TRS: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/h8...oto-elite.html

However, I have no idea where to mount the additional hardware since my '09 has the integrated fogs within the main cluster that are halogen I believe, and don't use additional ballasts, etc. Has anyone done this kit before, and have any tips on where the best locations are to mount the ballasts and relay?

I also picked up the Philips 4800k HIDs for my low/high beams, hoping that they will be about as bright as each other. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for any tips!

Just a quick bump, lots of views but no one upgraded their fogs on the integrated cluster?

I ran some zip ties through and suspended them above the headlight by the intake. Kind of ghetto but this way they're easily accessible, no heat concerns, and can be removed anytime.

And yeah.. I need to clean my engine bay pretty badly lol. Once I can get a good wash in (once the rains stop..) I'll probably do that too.

Yeah, but at least he did it.

Mine looks the same as yours, total dustbin. I need to get a steam clean or sumpm'.

Thanks for the pics bro. Any shots of the new fogs from the front? What did you buy for lows/highs and fogs?

Yeah its ghetto, but I had some trouble with ballasts so I finally decided to screw it and do that because I was not about to jack up the car, take the wheel off, and peel back the fender liner just because of a bulb/ballast. I could always mount it somewhere but I figured this works, so whatever lol.

I have 6000K headlights and LED turns/parking lights.. really cleans up the look IMO. HID fogs are 8000K and I usually turn them off on the freeway not to blind people.. but they look kind of exotic at night around town haha.

This pic I have is a bit old from when I painted my headlights, I was experimenting with white turn LED's (legal in CA somehow) but they seemed to blend in with the lows too much.

Yeah, so I'm giving yup on this install. THe kit will be for sale shortly. I never have enough time these day, due to having a 2 year old monster child. While I was just changing my headlight bulbs and rushing through it, I cracked one of the spring mounts that hold the bulb retainer. I don't really want to bust up anything else, since I don't have the time for this stuff anymore, so....
