Post AFS Headlights?

How's it going all? I recently became the proud owner of a '12 G37xS. I purchased the vehicle with some front end damage, as a project car. So far, the journey has been successful and fun but of course there's always a few obstacles to overcome. Any help is much appreciated.

The reason I'm posting is because I'm a little lost with a few things, parts-wise. Now, I've done my fair share of researching. Whether it's reading the forum(s) and/or calling my local dealerships. Unfortunately, the dealer was unable to provide me with the information I needed. They provided me with a part number which wasn't much help either since my local used auto part stores can't look up the specific numbers. I've contacted both LKQ and B&R Auto Wrecking for answers and they require me to provide the information I don't have. I've also googled the part numbers with no success.

I've read that Infiniti discontinued the AFS option or Adaptive Headlights, in about 2010. I've also read that it's still an option within the "tech package". Also, I've read that there should be a button labeled "AFS" or some sorts by the toggles on the lower left hand side of the dash. Mine does not have that button, so I assume I do not have the feature. Again, like I've mentioned before I got this vehicle second hand and damaged, so I have little knowledge other than the basics that come with the vehicle (i.e, paddle shifters, sport seats, bluetooth audio, etc.) My problem(s) is that I need to purchase both HID headlights (ouch, I know) and both fenders. Both auto parts stores ask if my vehicle has the AFS option, and my response is always the same, "I don't know". Another problem is, I've asked both auto parts stores to see if I can put either fender onto my vehicle. The two options being Non-AFS or AFS. I got hit with multiple answers ranging from; it doesn't matter, I don't know or it does matter.

I guess what I'm trying to ask or get across is; how can I tell if my vehicle has the AFS option, and does it really matter for the parts I need to purchase. I can provide my vin if necessary. The part number for the left and right headlights are #260601nm1d and #260101nm1d respectively.

Thanks all, looking forward to sharing the finished product with the community. Criticism is welcomed as well as some helpful tips.

If your car doesn't have an AFS button or intelligent cruise control (indicated by an extra button on the steering wheel controls), it uses regular non AFS headlights. If the fender options state for AFS or non AFS headlights, choose the option without them since your car isn't equipped with them.

On G37x there is No AFS button even if the car is equiped with AFS HL.
The AFS button is available only on RWD G37 models.

My G37x sedan have the AFS HL and no AFS button on the lower dash.
However, my convertible have the AFS button to disable the AFS feature (i never used that button. the AFS is cool)

Not true. My 2009 G37xS sedan, equipped with technology package, has a button to disable AFS next to the trunk release button.

OP, you are right. The AFS feature was discontinued beginning in 2010. You do not have AFS. Even if you did, you would be able to tell. You would be able to clearly see your headlights pivot with the movement of the steering wheel.

Thanks guys, definitely saves me a couple hundred bucks. Although, I was hoping I had the feature, looks amazing in some videos I've watched.
