my 2009 g37xs make the same noice and the z370 in the following video. any one knows what that might be and is it covered by a bumper to bumper warrant.

Thanks.

Power steering pump on its way out.Your 2009 isn't under bumper to bumper unless you have some extended warranty which you'll need to look into to see if it's covered.

My Infiniti G37 2013 Sport is making a very similar (yet louder unless the video doesn't quite capture the noise). Have you determined the issue? Mine is under warranty too.

It could just be the PS fluid being low, but if its not, like Epiphany said, it i probably the PS pump getting ready to go. I have heard of some people having leaking steering racks too so if the level is low and you top it off and it drops again it may be an issue with that too.

Mine was just at the minimum level but I cant figure out how to get the top off, I didn't want to break it so I didn't try too hard. Does it screw off or pop off on the G37?

My car did the same thing at 34k miles roughly. put more PS fluid in it. fixed the issue for a month or two. then came back just as bad. did a complete flush of the whole system at the dealer and it's been perfect ever since. that was last summer.

Took mine to the dealer and they replaced the Power Steering reservoir and fluid under warranty. They said if the problem comes back (it was intermittent in my car...only after 15-20 minutes would it happen) then the pump would be the next item to replace. It seems to be fairly common issue as the service manager said she had a coupe with the same issue the week before.
