paint color issue

I recently had a car accident , I brought my car to the garage to get it fix. I brought the car to the garage on the 15 of January and today I called them inquiring about my car cuz I miss it lol. I was told that for the past 2 weeks they couldn't match the color of the paint to the color of the car and that's why they didn't call me to come get it.

My question has anyone encounter this issue where the garage couldn't match the color? My car is a 2009 white pearl, they said they've tried everything and now the garage is saying the same thing the other garage were saying maybe your car was in an accident before.

I do understand that its an old car and the sun must of done a lot of damage to the paint but still lol

I wonder if I should get the car inspected again by a third part to make sure its not a lemon or have another garage check to see if the white pearl was the original color?

Any pearl is difficult to match. You could paint two panels side by side and end up with two different color effects based on how the pearl lays.

at least 1 of the shops should have a paint depth gauge and could verify right away if it was in an accident before.

as for lemon laws, maybe Canada is different but unless you bought it new it won't apply.

I feel your pain... We have the same colour and the shop had to paint it twice.

The first time they just went with the paint code and the car didn't pass QA. Then they sampled the colour and it is now VERY close, but not spot on. It looks perfect in full sun, but slightly beige when overcast.

Same, I had to get my front bumper repainted and it came out slightly grey. It's hard to tell when the sun hits it but when it's cloudy it is pretty noticeable. They got the fender paint damn well but couldn't get the plastic bumper to match. I figure I'll rock it until I pay the car off then look at the sport bumper upgrade.

So some D-bag swiped my car in a parking lot about a month ago when leaving. Didn't leave a note didn't say anything and was gone by time I got back. Anyone heard of any good color matching paint or am I going to have to get the bumper painted at a shop (which is what I fear I'll have to do).

Well I got the car back today, because when I went to pick it up yesterday after work the dealership requested that I pay the $500 deductible because they were saying that the insurance said that I was at fault.

so I called the claim department and left a nasty message to the person in charged of my file and reminded them that its been over 3 weeks and they were never able to talk to the other party and get their side of the story, I also reminded the guy that on our last conversation he said that they would wave the fee. So why the **** is the garage asking me to pay???
He claimed that they were busy, like what the **** hire more ppl. He also said that Next time I have to pay the deductible and they will reimburse me.
I was not ****ing Impress.

So today I received the call and was told that they waved the deductible, I was told by the garage to not believe the insurance because some ppl have to wait so many month to get that deductible back.

Apparently they painted the passenger side door twice and still couldn't match it, but they said that the trunk was repainted due to the rust forming under the silver molding but the other garage that painted it were one touch off. Geeeez.

I have a question for the expert out there, and tks in advance.

On the trunk of my car there's some rust forming but I was told by the garage that there was a recall for that rust couple years ago maybe in 2012 but I didn't know about it and the car was at the dealership at this time. my question is how long does a recall last and is there anything I can do to to fix that or I have to bring it to a body shop.

Yeah pearl it always hard to match up because every manufacture's uses their own spin on it, but I believe a body shop shouldn't have any problem with that. They could go to the dealership directly.

Its not about manufacturer difference. You can spray two different panels out of the exact same mix and end up with two different looks depending on how you paint it. Been there, done that.
