Matte vs Gloss wrap for chrome window trim?

Has anyone done matte vinyl wrap on their chrome trim instead of the gloss? I love me some matte but I am worried it won't quite match the mirror, B pillar and that glass divider in the back doors which is that shiny, gloss type.

My car is white so matte would look pretty sweet. Worst case I matte that which is currently shiny (aforementioned) but I am wondering if peeps have done the matte on gloss thang yet.

Thanks all.

That write-up is awesome, BTW.

Should look fine, but it won't take much more work (or material) to wrap the existing gloss door pillars and glass divider. If you keep them gloss and the rest matte I don't think that would look nearly as nice. Glad you liked the DIY link

Matte gives a very nice contrasting finish, however there are draw backs that you have to take into account. First off, it stains. More so with oil or any type of grease/wax substance, as well as sap/bird poop/etc. that are not immediately washed off. Secondly, to couple with the first concern, you have to avoid any wax detailers/soaps when washing your car, or applying wax, as it will give it a sheen, and it wont be even.

Even with everything mentioned above, as long as you take good care, and keep it clean, you shouldn't have an issue with it. Just be careful. For the record, satin is the best vinyl to use as it puts up to the most abuse.

Cant wait to see the finished product, be sure to post pictures when you're done!

I did satin black wrap. I also wrapped the gloss black door pillars in satin black. I have satin black wheels so I think it works.

Yeah I was thinking the exact same on the matte! Going to have to be really careful with things like wax and fingerprints and I can tell by the current chrome pieces I touch that stuff too much! Especially the back doors. Going to have to give myself and the GF white gloves to wear I think. And definitely! I am hoping to start next weekend and will definitely post some pics!

Any pix Big Mike??
