Inside headlight restoration options?
Inside headlight restoration options?
Hey Guys,
So for the past year and a half, Ive had this haziness in the inside of my headlight assemblies. After searching on the forum, I found out that its due to the lights not being sealed properly? Anyhow, Id like to fix the issue. Problem is, I don't know which route to take. Can I somehow just buy the top half of the assembly (just the lens) and replace it that way? Or would I have to buy an entirely new assembly (which I know is incredibly expensive). I also read that If I tried to clean the inside of the lens, It would make it worse. If I could get some advice on what to do, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

You might be able to fix that by applying some headlight restoration rather than buying or opening it up.
I use this 3M headlight restoration that I picked up from AutoZone every now and then and it seems to work pretty good.

If it's on the inside you're probably out of luck, might be able to find some on ebay for decent prices though. Maybe even find ones that might not work but have clean covers for even better prices perhaps. You may be able to get rid of that haze w/ the methods used for the outside but I believe there's a UV coating on the inside of those light covers, and that would be ruined w/ any sanding.
