Just got my windows tinted
Sleek! Did they mention anything about the window auto up/down when you open and close the door? The local tint shop, which happens to be the best in town says they wont warranty their tint until I can disable that to let it adhere for a few days. I guess it has caused many other G owners to start peeling prematurely.

"Better" isn't possible, they have 4.9 out of 5 stars on yelp and google, but another shop, sure.. The fact that they even know about the window feature is a great quality to me. Is there a way to disable this? I don't want to get tint at a shop that offers lifetime warranty if I cant get the warranty lol

You wouldn't want to disable it since it stops the glass from hitting the car when you open and close the door. If they put it on right then there shouldn't be a problem. Had 2 different coupes done and no problems in 5 years. Just find another shop is best I can tell you. What will probably happen is that the shop won't go to the top edge of the window. Instead they will leave a little gap between the tint and the top on the glass. I had a Volvo that peeled and that's what they did.

When I got my coupe it had film right up to the edge. So much so I couldn't even tell it was tint and not smoked glass.
I had the dealer remove it b/c of state law.
Later I changed my mind and got it redone.
The tinter I went to, understood the auto up/down feature and said he had no issue with it, but was quite explicit about not lowering the windows beyond that.
The tints had more of a gap than I liked and I had him redo it closer to the edge. Again he had no problem with the auto drop, just advised to keep them up otherwise for a couple of days.I left them up for almost a week. No issues so far. (Fingers crossed)
One thing to keep in mind is some installers file the edges of the film so there is less to snag. it creates a bevel. Google the process, then ask the installer if they do this. If they never heard of it, move on. While it may not be necessary, at least you can filter out the pros from the poseurs.
I'd find an installer that was confident he could deal with coupes and frameless windows. G's are certainly not unique in this feature.
Any choad with a plotter and a squeegee can slap a precut piece of plastic on and leave a honking "safety" gap.
You're paying someone to do a job so it does not look like a Walmart DYI kit.

My Lexus SC didn't even have this auto feature but when it was 100+ in the summer, the glue softened and the tint bunched up after just a few roll ups. Been there done that. I'll shop around. Either way OP, car looks great man.
