Analog clock light flickering
Analog clock light flickering
My analog clock recently started flickering. Happens rapidly after the first start of the night and then happens intermittently once I drive around for a bit. All other lights and gauges work fine, so I don't think it's a battery issue.
Is there a way to replace the LED in the clock or would I need an entirely new one? How much would it cost if anyone knows as well?

If you are pretty handy with soldering you can likely take it apart and replace the LED.
Although, LEDs don't really go bad that often so its possible something else is causing the flickering.

I think this is a pretty common problem. Mine was warrantied as well. I was driving from AZ to NY and it just started blinking at about 2am. I didn't even know it was supposed to light up. Freaked me out. Anyways, it took the dealer about five minutes to swap it out so I assume its not that hard.
Yeah I had the same problem, and it eventually went out. Mine was under warranty, so I just paid the $50 deductible and they replaced the whole clock. Unfortunately this is the only official fix - its $600
Not sure if you can do it yourself but it can't hurt to try.

There apparently is an updated clock (part number 25810-1ca1b) which addresses the lighting issue.

If the clock use LED for light and is powered by 12V, then it must use some LED constant current driver circuit.
LED's don't go bad or burn up. Most likely the driver is the fault.
It should be easy to repair or replace the driver circuit with a different one from some aftermarket LED bulb.
If it use some incandescent bulb, just replace the bulb and call it a day.
