Rochester - sorry to hear man. NY & CA are the two states that no salary would ever be worth living in for me. This is proof positive.

this is 15% all the way around. I like it.

I am also from NY. I am considering to put tints on my 13' G37x, but is it worth to put 70% tint on? What does 70% tint on the car even look like...

IIRC, his meter registered the untinted windows at 74%. For some reason, I didn't commit that number to memory, kind of caught up in the moment realizing my tint had to come off.

So... my guess is that 70% tint will look almost exactly like a factory-tinted window. The only "benefit" would be added UV protection.

I don't know the percentage, as I acquired a used G with AM tinted windows, but it's noticeably dark. But not an issue for night driving.

These are before and after pictures of 20% tint all around on a Moonlight white exterior with the Stone interior. Pictures with tint were taken on a sunny day...

30% all around, I would have liked 20% but I choose to stay near the legal limit for me which is 35%.

You did your own window tint? You didn't use a shop?

Anybody else do this? Difficulty, tips, tricks?

A friend of mine installed it for me as I was to scared to venture in that department lol, when my car was at the garage recently the mechanic ripped the bottom part on the driver's side and they reinstalled it for me. They were chocked to see it was 5% in the front, they usually install 5% in the back never in the front.

I also heard from the guy that tinted my windows that some tinted they moon roof also.

The shop wanted $250 I think but he charged $70

I have 5% on the moon roof. I like to leave it tilted open and not have the sun shining down into my eyes.

My moonroof is always closed. Always. Panel and glass both. Really don't like these things on cars, any car. I understand why most people do, but I'm not one of them.

I wonder... if self-tinting is a reasonable cost, and a straight-forward process, then doing this stupid New York dance each year might not be that big of a deal. I would even do all four doors, and not just the back doors, although likely in 40%, and not 15% like what I had.

Hmm... thinking... thinking...
