6500K bulbs no blue hint ???
So I've been using the best bang for the buck HID replacements bulbs IMO from Retrofitsource, the Morimoto XB35. I just got a new set which are 6500K, and supposedly with these they're supposed to have a blue hint vs the 5500k. When I first turn on the lights I notice the blue hint, but when it warms up the blue is gone and it looks pure white like 5500k. What could be the problem? Or it's just some science that I just have to deal with? Thanks.
Hello that's just how they are. I have them as well and they are really just pure white i thought the same since they are 6500k but I'm really happy with them, I had blue tint (8k) before but they were too blue lol.heres a pic of mine
6500k is daylight ...not suposed to have blue, also depends on CRI. The fact that other bulbs in that spectrum do are just cheap lights or do a poor job of replicating that kelvin level. Stay away from the blue, looks tacky and rice (IMHO).
Wasn't looking for actually blue blue like I used to like, I just wanted a white with a hint of blue like its supposed to be according to the description of the Kelvin on the site. Oh well haha.
6500k is more of a bright white with a very subtle and barely noticeable blue tint to it while the 8k if much more clearly blue if that's the look you're going for.
Check out Diode Dynamics. They have all the different watt bulbs there and have pictures to show examples of the differences.

Same here with Diode Dynamics bought it for my 2011 and had to flick them to work so went with Morimoto and never had the issue anymore. I wouldn't use Diode Dynamics unless I had a 2010 or under from what they told me that the newer ballast were sensitive to there bulbs but Infinti told me they were all the same anyways at the end I had to switch them
