Adding IPL Foglight

I have a 2009 Journey coupe with an IPL front and I'm looking to install the lower fog lights in the empty bezels.

From the factory I have "fogs" built into the headlight assembly. I'm not too familiar with electric work, so my question is, is it possible to still retain those lights and just splice the lower fog lights into the circuit so both fogs will work?

Will the fuse be able to support the draw from both upper and lower fogs? Both will stay halogen.

Here's a diagram:

I know I can eliminate the stock fogs and extend the stock fog wires down to the lower fogs, but was wondering if it was possible to keep both.

Also does anyone know where I can find the wire harness/extensions, and how to splice them properly?

I appreciate the help. Thanks

Yes you can keep them both, you just need to find a pigtail harness, I used these http://www.ebay.com/itm/272128621990?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITand some quick splice connectors, except I disconnected the power wire to the fogs in the headlights, I just wanted to use the bottoms. Its fairly simple to do.

i think u should by a fog light harness and use the stock foglights to trigger/turn on the ipl foglights. you can buy fog light harness on ebay. add some h11 plugs to connects the wires directly to the fogs for a clean install. but if i were u id connect the ipl independently on its own switch so you have complete control over it

I had the same issue and didn't like my fog lights in the headlights AT ALL so I tied them into the oem switch and disabled them from the headlights.

hmm im debating whether to use the parking lights as the trigger or install a separate switch. i usually have it on its own switch. i definitely don't want it tied to the oem switch bc that requires the headlights to be on. im rice sometimes i like to drive with just the parking lights and fogs on lol

Haha I'm the same way, I think it looks mean like that honestly... Also be weary of a spare switch, it can definitely look pretty tacky if you don't hide it or choose an OEM style. The previous owner of my car put this ridiculous PIAA switch right on the dash.

That's what I'm looking at doing. Hopefully this thread will help get me started

seems like such a waste to disable the oem fog lights. being in the headlights theyre fully functional and make a difference when turned on. i myself will put a yellow bulb in there

Hmm not too bad but it still looks kinda weird IMO. I'll snap a picture of mine when I get home and show you. Just depends on what style you're after. In a perfect world there would be some kind of black OEM style switch you would wire it into instead of a simple on off button but I guess you would hardly see it

What do you guys think of running the IPL fogs as a DRL?

I searched up some threads where some users used a universal kit off eBay that linked up the lower fogs to the battery, no splicing. So every time you start the car, the fogs act as DRL, switches.

I think I'm just sour from the previous owner but here's an example of why I'm against extra non OEM buttons. Ugh. Worst part is, I have no clue what those other 2 switches do.
