Plasti dip tail lights for 08 g37s

I have a 2008 Infiniti g37s coupe and I'm thinking of Plasti diping the rear tailights to a dark tint color. I just recently painted the rims black and I have some left over plasti dip so I figured why not. Just wondering if anyone out there has ever done this? Is it a good idea? Or am I better off ordering tint film or some type of black out covers?

You should try to post up an introduction in the newbie section of the forum prior to making a post. Also I'd recommend not dipping them and contacting BlueBatMobile on this forum and getting a set of tint overlays from him.

There is a youtube video of someone PD'ing their tail lights. Also one or two threads here. Run a search, or google.

I really want to tint my tail lights but haven't been satisfied with the satin-like finish I've seen on dipped or film-tinted lights so far.

Also search for BlueBat in the forum, he has some pre-cut tint films for tail lights in various styles some include GTR-style cut-outs around the brake lights for better visibility, safety and presumably legality

I honestly think plasti-dipping tail lights look garbage, especially on such a nice car... If you like it you like it, just my opinion. I learned along time ago to do it the right way once.

I agree just get blue bat overlays and have them installed looks way better in my opinion. Check out the blue bat thread on here for examples

2 things, first if you must do it - paint or overlay the tails, not plastidip because it's not very transparent. Second, first cop to see the back of your car is pulling your over and giving you repair order unless you cut out circles for the reflectors, that's from personal experience.

Happened to me with my old 2001 Firebird. Dipped the tails so they looked matte but light would still shine through. Cop got me and let me off with a warning luckily. That's all I needed.

Plastidip has no place on a G37 unless maybe to protect wheels during winter. Bluebatmobile is the way to go here.

Thanks for information! I'll check out bluebat. Looks like everyone agrees to just go that route. Thanks again

Appreciate your feedback. Looks like everyone agrees not to go with plasti dip. I'll keep it clear of plasti dip. Thanks again !

I was wondering about the cops. But now I know for sure. I'll keep the lights just the way they are for now.

Thanks for information. Yea I'll be checking out bluebat. Everyone is saying that's the way to go. Something similar happened to me in my trans am but wasn't for tail lights. I had two small blue lights at the very bottom. Cop let me go with a warning. It happens

BlueBatMobile has a good variety of taillight and head light tint overlays to choose from. You won't be disappointed with them or the quality. He also has a bunch of infiniti examples posted on his photobucket page. Best of luck and keep us posted on what you do man! And also welcome to the forums.
