Painted my grill today

10 coats of Autodip and 5 coats of clear.

Can you add more coats of clear to create a glossier finish? This may be a good alternative to the midnight black grille. Also, did you sand down the grille prior to painting?

I want to do that to my grill too. Im thinking a matte grill with a red logo. Seems easy enough. I'll send pics when Im done.

Looks nice! I'm looking to do mine with plastidip one of these weekends.. Did you take the grill off? Or did you just put a cardboard piece behind it? Can you post your steps?

I removed the grill, it's actually quite easy. you need to remove those plastic push tabs and 8-10mm screws and the radiator cover comes off. Then you press down the locking tabs that hold in the grill. I suppose you could tape off the bumper and put plastic behind the grill if you chose. I always like painting things away from the car when possible.

I have a red '12 G37X Sport and I plan on doing a bit with it. Cosmetically, for starters, will be painting my wheels gold and doing the grill black with the red logo. Just joined this site so I'll be looking to you guys for ideas and suggestions.
