I got word from Alex at 180customs. He told me they will pay for the shipping both ways and plan to replace the lenses with new ones since I had given them brand new lights to begin with. He will try and figure out why this happened in the first place. He is convinced it was a heat related issue. Either way, I am thankful 180 is standing behind their work. I will keep you posted once I have more info.

I'm glad it is going to work out for you. I wish I'd been so lucky.

Hmm, maybe putting the fresh headlights on the car during the middle of summer has something to do with it.

Might be something to consider....don't do this mod during periods of extreme heat or cold.

Just a thought.

Wow, maybe they should come with a warning? Actually, I put them on in the evening (was almost dark), but yes its still warm out, I live in the desert.

I'm not saying this is for sure the case, but a possibility nonetheless.

I too live in the desert. Brutal summer sun. Especially on black vehicles/objects. Even after dark, temperatures of high 90s.

Even though the paint and adhesive on the headlights was "dry", maybe it wasn't 100% dried/cured/hardened...if that makes sense.

Regardless of the cause of this, I hope you get this issue resolved quickly so you can enjoy your headlights.

Good luck getting that resolved Jake, a shame you're having to go through this. Can't imagine that kind of damage would be done in such a short time, that reply about possibly switching lights sounds plausible.
I DIYd mine several years ago w/ black housings and I too live in the desert, no issues whatsoever. I reused the factory seal w/ extra silicone and never use pressure spray to wash my car. I've heard that sometimes that can make them more prone to condensation.

I hand wash my car so Im not worried about water intrusion from pressure spraying. Trying to find time to remove the lights before COB Friday to get them on their way back to 180. Going to polish up my old lights better before they go back on the car.

Headlights are on their way back to 180. One thing I got out of this so far is being a lot faster at removing and replacing the headlights. So much easier to take the bumper off completely rather than just pulling the bumper away from the car while still partially attached.

One-eighty stands firm behind their work. I have had them Done my lights and had done upgrades to them, never had problems and tested them in brutal last years winter in NY and never had a single problem. I am sure you will be taken care of and get your lights back in perfect condition and working order. Post pictures when you will get them back.

They just got them late this afternoon so I will contact them on Monday and see what they have planned. They told me they would be replacing the lenses since it appeared that there was some heat damage to them. Im sure they will get it taken care of. Just sucks I had to take my bumper off and reinstall my old ones. Good thing I have old ones at least or I would be screwed.

I have condensation in my headlights after the 180 mod. Also 1 of my ironman leds have burned out. I've had them for 2 years now. God I hope it doesn't get any worse because I live in Canada and a real pita to get it fixed and also don't want to pay again.

Keep posting about your troubles publicly. When people with problems tell the world about it is the only time you'll probably get them motivated to hold up their end of the deal. Maybe not even then.

Alex from 180 emailed me today to say they should be shipping out tomorrow. They repainted the housing just to try and make sure everything is perfect before sending them back. Since they were going to do that anyway, I asked if they would make the color matte gunmetal to match the shroud and they were happy to do it. I am happy with their response to the issue so far, Ill reserve my final opinion once I get them installed and see they are working 100%.
