Why did Infiniti do this with the head/fog lights?

Maybe it's just me or maybe Infiniti has their reasons but why are the headlights hid and the fog lights are not. Looks out of place to me what do you think? Here are some pictures of my car. If any of you changed out the fog lights what brand did you buy and how much did you spend? If you could post some pictures that would be great.

doesn't look bad to me. You might want to try LED bulbs in the fogs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, i understand fog lights are not meant to be bright. The way the light is meant to be thrown is near and wide, for lane markers and such to help you see when it's foggy outside and visibility is low. ultra bright light will just wash out in the fog and make things worse.

For the most part I think your right but somewhere I seen a video or picture of the new Infiniti Q 40 or Q50 and it had hid fog lights...

This. You wouldn't use your high-beams in fog so why would you want more light in foggy weather? I replaced mine with Hoen yellow bulbs. Definately better than Nokya or any other yellow bulbs I have had previously. I wouldn't say they are brighter than other bulbs, but the yellow color is richer so it accomplished style and function.

According to Infiniti the Q50 comes with LED fogs. Again these aren't going to be as bright as HID but the color will be more inline with HID.

That's what I thought about the new models. I live i CA and I really don't need to use the fog lights since I usually don't run into fog. I do however like the look of all 4 light on at the same time. With the different light that I have on now it just looks funny. I just want them to sync up and blend with the headlights.

It this just the bulb that will replace the one that's in there now? That's pretty much what I want. I want light that will blend in and won't over power the oem headlights. I wan't it to look like it was from the factory...Any pic's

I believe it is an H8 LED replacement. Here is the thread that DD has regarding the fogs. Page 8 is what you are looking for. https://www.myg37.com/forums/lightin...-lights-8.html

Yellow light is the best color for visibility in foggy environment. White lighting will bounce off the fog making the road even harder to see.

Another functional vs apparence issue.

Here's my deal..... My buddy was driving in front of me and asked if I changed any of my lights and I told him no why? He said it looks like you added HiD to the headlights but couldn't afford to put hid on the fog lights. That's what I want to get away from. So I guess you can say I'm init for appearance... I live in California and there's not much fog down here.

I would go with the LED bulbs in the fogs, I've read good reviews about them and you don't have to deal with the xtra ballast boxes etc.
