Blacked out headlight housing DIY questions

I have an 08 g37 coupe and I really want to black my housings out . Has anyone done it before? Is it hard to do. Did you have trouble sealing the headlights together again? And post pictures if you have done it. Thanks

While I havent done it on a G, I did it on my old Maxima when I did an HID projector retrofit.

I baked the head lights on a tray in the oven at like 250 degrees for like 5-10 minutes. Watching carefully. I then took a flat head and pried the lens from the housing while the glue was still warm.

Reversed the process to put them back together, I also added some extra butyl tape to reseal.

Again, not sure of the process on our headlights but I imagine it would be similar.

I think your lack of responses are indicative of your lack of typing in the search bar "headlight diy" or "painting headlights diy" as there are many threads already made detailing the process. Hope that helps you.
