Installed 6000k Headlight Bulbs by "Kensun"

Thought I would share my second mod (first being LED tag lights, if you would call that a 'mod'). I purchased
these these
lights from Amazon, with Prime shipping, for $30.00.

And they turned out quite nicely. I didn't want something completely blue, just with more of a white-ish, blue tint. The upgrade from OEM is just enough for my liking

Next on the list:

- Manzo Axleback Exhaust
- Satin/Matte Black Rear Valence Overlay by Bluebatoverlays.com
- Possibly Plastidip'ing grill and badges on trunk lid

Side-note: I also ordered LED fog light replacements from Amazon but they did not fit. I tried making them fit, and ended up losing both screws to the fog light bulb fastener inside the housing somewhere . Does anyone have or know of a good LED fog light bulb?

I had the same issue with the fogs on my 08.. I just ended up leaving the regular bulbs in there. Lost one of the two screws...

Those high beams look very uneven in color and height in the first photo.

You know, I was thinking the same thing until I realized that one side of the car was jacked up higher than the other in that picture. (Hence the wheel resting against the wall)

V-LED and DD (do searches) are the two LED companies of choice here on the forums. Amazon, eBay, Pep-Boys, etc are all crap shoots and often crap. You get what you pay for.

Visible light is reduced past 4300 Kelvin, which means you have less visibility at night for "looks". Also, you took out $100+/pair OEM bulbs for $30/pair no name bulbs. Hopefully you don't have the igniting issues that most people develop over time since the OEM ballasts don't play nicely with cheap bulbs.

Yeah I tried the Diode Dynamic 6000k's on my 13' and they didn't work for poop(had to toggle lights on/off a bunch to get them to ignite) Note: Supposedly they work great on 2010 and older models(ballast change).

Spent the...$160 on the Phillips 6000k's and couldn't be happier. They look and work perfectly.

Like Ryne said, anything past 4300 kelvin (OEM) you actually loose lumens (visible light), so while you think you are getting brighter headlights because they are whiter (hint of blue past 5000k) they aren't. Ability to see at night is not something you should mess with all for looks and looking rice IMHO.

If you are chasing more of a white hue, Osram makes a CBI (cool blue intense) bulb that maintains lumens.

You have to pay to play though, those bulbs aren't cheap at about $185/pair.

Sort of, the C1 Xtreme Vision is Philips, Osram CBI equivalent. The CBI at 5K (same as C1 Xtreme Vision), which will provide slightly more visible light than the Ultinon at 6K. The Ultinon is still a great bulb with great luminosity, though. I recommend anyone interested in buying OEM bulbs to use a reputable dealer such as The RetroFit Source (as linked above) since there are more fakes on the market than authentic.

On the G I had the hardest problems finding the right Hid... after many cheap trials and errors I ended up going to both for Fog and HID with Morimoto... total set was about $180 for fogs and Hids... no fault as most do and No flicker.... You will get off most lower brands both of those issues and when I plugged in both, they just fired up and being 5k lighting that it was perfectly white...no blue no yellow...

Now being in the Q50 I have 5k lighting LED's of course.

In the G having 5k was the perfect combo for the light reach maximum distance IMO and still never had a issue....

I agree, in most cases, 5K is the sweet spot for output and aesthetics.
