So I was wondering, I just got done replacing my fogs and city lights with 6000k LEDs and now the headlight look kind of out of place. I didn't want to order 6000k replacement hid and have my headlights straight blue so I was wondering what the 5k looks like as I can't really find a good answer online. Anybody using 5k??

 

5000k are about as white as you can get. i have them on my Duc and perfer them over the 4300k I tried and the 6000k I tried.

 

Hmmm well I have the 5k in the mail right now I probably should just try to exchange the bulbs I have in for 5k models and see how that goes

 

I currently use Osram 5K D2S bulbs in headlights.

 

Do they show any type of blue hint in them??? All I need is a little bit to go with the 6k bulbs I just put in.

 

Put 5K in your fogs and city ... white is better than blue. Any hint of blue looks rice.

 

Yea I was looking to see if I can find the xml2 led bulbs I have in 5k and diode dynamics are the only ones who stock that color. The ones I purchased were from ebay and were half the price. I figured for the price DD had, I could just go ahead and put hid in the fog lights. I kind of like the 6k look in the fogs since my car is slate blue anyway. Just didn't want my headlights to be blue. But it seems the projectors add blue to the lights from a distance anyway so maybe from a far the car doesn't look so different With the fogs and headlights. I need to go take a better look at it tonight I guess.

 

Did you look at V-LED? They offer most bulbs in either 5K or 6K. I would stay away from eBay and cheap China brands, DD and V-LED are your best vendors hands down.

 

Yea I just checked there and they don't stock them either. Honestly I like the brightness of these xml2 bulbs as they project what's directly infront of the car very nicely and paying half what DD charges and having a one year warranty on them makes the deal sweet. There are other types of LEDs that are even brighter but cost well over a 100 and I feel anything remotely close to that would make me just buy HIDs. Which is why I didn't purchase these from DD as they cost the same as HIDs. I'll go ahead and change out my headlights to 5k when they arrive and make my final judgement then. People say they do have a hint of blue in the 5k which is all I need to be fine with the rest of the bulbs

 

Get OSRAM CBI 5k, definitely worth the cost. The difference in visibility is quite astonishing.

I ordered them from DD and they seem to support cnlight. Currently my fogs are overpowering the color from the HIDs infront. So we shall see what happens although I don't know since they say these leds produce 1500 lumens. I swear these things are bright lol

 

I believe OSRAM CBI 5k put out 3400 lumens, for comparison the Phillips 85122 4300k puts out 3200 lumens.

 

So I got the 5k bulbs in from DD and got them installed. Can surely see the difference with the 5k bulb on the left and 4300k on the right. As stated the 5k is pure white as the opposite does have yellow hint to it. I'm going to keep it like it is for now but I do see myself changing put the fogs to 5k as well when I find a good price on those bulbs as 150 from DD for some led is pretty steep to me. But I do like the look!!

 

Well I drove around with them and I like the color more than the 4300k but they don't seem very bright. Plus I'm having problems with the driver side light not firing up the first time out. So I'm thinking about returning these and trying out those xb35 5500k bulbs everyone seem to like over at hidplanet.

 

The xb35 is only 3000 lumens. You will see less than the Phillips 4300k bulbs. If you want bright lights you need to get the osram cbi bulbs as they are 5000k and produce the most lumens.
