Window Tinting

Hey guys,

In regards to window tinting how dark would you recommend going on the back windows? Also… How light should I go on the front so that there is a decent contrast between the two (and hopefully cops won't be able to tell on first look that the fronts are tinted lol.. yup… illegal in my city)?

I'm in CA where tinting the front windows is illegal so I went with 35% in the front and 20% in the back. 20% in the front and 5% looked too dark for me. Good luck!

I have 20% on the front and the sides, and 5% on the back.

I'm 20% all around but willing to go 5% on the side/back glass and leaving driver/passenger window 20%

I personally do not like mismatching tints on the side windows. But to each his own but I think 20% on the sides is dark enough.

Either keep it legal with 30%-35% or go all the way to 5% limo tint

Depends on what you want really.....What's legal & what you can get away with....
I have had 15-18% on all windows in every car I ever had. 1 tint ticket & that was dismissed. Don't drive like a moron or in a ghetto hood & you shouldn't have a problem.
My G came with 18% when I bought it.

Google is your friend

A quick search on Google will tell you what you tint laws are.

In Georgia is 32%

I had to get 35% sides and back. Panaflex.

i also live in CA and have gone 15% in the back and 20% in the front. ive never been pulled over for just having tint, i've gotten 1 tint ticket in my 5.5 years of ownership because i was speeding on the highway, CHP officer only gave me a tint ticket w/o speeding ticket (ill take that ALL DAY). luckily, my buddy has a cop friend that wrote my tint ticket off.

if i had to do it again, i'd go 15% all the way around (looks better). i also made sure i put my front license plate on my car though. the 2 times i've been pulled over CHP always walked to the front of my car to see if i had a front license plate. (or seemed like he was checking for it). in my mind if you have tint and dont have a front license plate they're going to get you for both and will go out of their way to get you for it.

^^^What he said^^^ If you do get pulled over for something, put your window down as soon as you stop and be polite. 35% is legal in Missouri and I have 20% sides and rear, I had a cop tell me the car looked nice at a gas station the other day.

I have a police certified letter that allows me to have any tint on my car. Was a pita to get, have to go to an actual medical doctor (not an optometrist) and get an eye exam, then they write you a letter and you take it to MVA where a police officer certifies it.
