to paint or not to paint !
hey guys whats going on ?
I have 11 BLUESLATE g and so far I love it !
I would love to buy new wheels but i'm going to have to wait till next summer most likely . But I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on painting my stock 17" wheels a semi gloss black ?
In my head I think it would look great ! I already blacked out my trunk emblems and tinted my windows . But I don't know lol
any feed back would be great ! Thanks !

If you use dupli color it will be filled with rock chips. I'm in the same page as you I plastic dipped them but it came off so I used this, is like a plastic coat it looks like powder coat it doesn't peel, and is scratch resistant. If you absolutely have to do this (and you don't), then take the wheels to a reputable powder-coating shop. Otherwise, they're going to look like little 17" wheels painted rice black with a rattle-can, worthy of all the negative connotations inevitably associated with that "mod".
Also, when gloss black wheels are dirty, even if done professionally, they *still* look like they were painted in your driveway with a rattle can. That said, go with an off-black color. Gunmetal is always a good choice.
Tough love, baby.
Good luck.

Props for having it professionally done.
U can always mess around with plastidip to see what looks good with ur car and if u find a color that u like than u can get it professionally painted that color or powder coated. I just did mine and so far I like the results. I guess at the end of the day it's what YOU like. Every one has different taste.
my vote would be for gun metal too !!
black wheels look best on silver, white, and black G's but thats just my 02 cents.
powder coating is an expensive commitment! especialy on 17'' stocks
