work in progress, oem look LED DRL in 08 coupe sport bumper

I've had a g37s for a few months now, and been racking my brain trying to figure out how to add factory looking LED units for a DRL. The closest unit I could find is actually designed to fit a 2011-2013 bmw x5, but with a little modification its nearly an exact fit. I bought the unit from iJDMTOY, $169. I just need to cut out an opening in the faux vents of my bumper. They come with a driver so you can have them wired to dim to 50% or 75% when the headlights come on.

I do have one question for anyone who can help. I want these to be true DRLs, and to come on with the ignition? Where could I wire these so that whenever the car is ON, these lights are on? Is there an ignition wire?

Yeah, had a local tint/lighting/customs shop install them, lights are as bright as factory lights on new cars, I'll post pics later, at work now, pics don't do justice as far as showing brightness

Looks pretty good. In for finished pics. I can't believe nobody makes an aftermarket fog/drl option.

Theyre not perfect, the shop had to custom cut the fake vents in the bumper, and custom cut the chrome bezel around the lights, but unless youre a foot away they look fine

They look great from the pictures.

What did they use to cut them do you know?

Did they have to remove the bumper?

Does it dim when the light come on?

Finaly how much did they charge you?

thanks

I'll post a pic of them off tonight or tomorrow, idk how they cut them, they did have to remove the bumper, $150 to install, fitment is so so, there is a small gap, I might try to mess with it, but from even a few feet away it looks fine for me, may end up painting the chrome black so it blends better

And you can hook it up to dim 50% when the headlights come on, I chose not to though

In the Middle East, the newer models come with this style as an option. I've managed to obtain the template and add it to my 08 model.

It has the auto-dim function (full brightness during day, less bright during the night).

Sorry I dont have a picture of it with the light on.

I saw the middle east version a while back & like it. Look forward to whatever specs you can provide - part numbers, cost, etc.
