Install OEM front lip without using tape

Procrastinating on installing my 2010+ sedan sport front lip because I don't want it to be permanent. Already going to skip drilling for the side bolts, has anyone also skipped the double sided tape? How secure is it with just the six clips along the bottom? How tight does the weatherstrip edge hold against the bumper?

Even if you drill and use the double sided tape it's still not permanent. Why are you against it being permanent? The 2010+ lip looks great. I would not trust with just the bottom clips that's for sure.

If you use just the bottom clips it definitely won't be permanent. It will fall off at speed...

Also wouldn't avoid the side screws either, it pulls the sides in and keeps it secure. Keep in mind the bumper flexes quite a bit and not having the lip as secure as possible will result in a lot of slop in the fit and will scuff up your bumper sliding around as it flexes.

I consider it being more or less permanent because the side holes would be visible when taken off and the double sided tape would be really difficult to remove. Just not as dead set on the look as when I first bought the lip and the car, and would like the option of switching out for a carbon fiber under spoiler in the future. Kind of warming up to the stock sport bumper and the OEM lip has sort of an "underbite" look.

The side holes are pretty easy to "hide", just a couple black phillips screws in the holes and you won't notice them. The double sided tape is a PITA to remove but w/ goo gone and a hair dryer it comes off OK. Much better than a loose spoiler that will scuff up your paint and not fit proper IMO.
