Headlights not working
Headlights not working
I got headlights from diode dynamics last week. The dealership installed the lights and right away one of them stopped working so I got it replaced under warranty. After installing the new bulbs they worked perfectly for a day. But since yesterday when i start the car one of the headlights won't turn on. But after turning the lights on and off a few times the lights work normally. Any idea what's wrong. These are 6000k 35 watt bulbs from diode dynamics.
I saw that thread and it was for 2009+ models or something like that. I have an 08 coupe and one of my headlights just went out. I think my issue is due to the ballast as I've been having the 6k bulbs in for over 1.5 years before it went out last week.
I read about that, but didn't see anything about the philips or osram bulbs. Are you sure they work properly. 'Cause before buying the diode dynamics light I heard many ppl say that they work well with the stock ballast.
I tried diode dynamics 6k bulbs and they did not work. I then went with Osram and haven't had any issues since.

The Matsushi-ta ballasts in our cars are known to be picky with what type of bulb it works with.
That being said, you have a much better chance of them working if you use Philips or Osram bulbs. This has been posted on the HIDPlanet forums as well as theretrofitsource.com
While aftermarket bulbs may work with the car, it may also not, depending on how the bulbs were made. They don't adhere to as much strict tolerances as the OEM bulb companies.
I will post again what theretrofitsource (legitimate HID store) says about these ballasts:
"The Matsushi-ta ballasts are best used with Philips or Osram bulbs, sometimes have trouble igniting aftermarket lamps."
If you find out that your bulbs aren't working, change them to OEM. They should work.
