Rear End Damage

Hey guys,

This guy was backing up and hit my car. Went to get a quote from a shop and they said it would cost about $1400-1600 to repair.

The manager at the shop said the backup camera is part of the trunk chrome trim, so even the camera has to be replaced. Is that true or BS?

I basically wanna know if he's ripping me off. I will be getting a second opinion tomorrow.

Here are some pics:

Thanks for your feedback.

The camera is bolted to the chrome trim, you can remove it

That does make sense, it's just 3M tape holding it on. It's easier to buff and wetsand the whole trunk area instead of spot treating

So the person that hit me has decided to go through insurance.
He has state farm. Since my car is leased, I need to make sure I get a new OEM bumper.
Any tips on what to say to the inspector when he's looking at the car? "Please give me a new bumper"? :P

Thanks!
