Are shattered fog light covered?
Are fog light housings that get shattered from a rock usually covered by warranty? Got a 2011 G37 with 27k on it and I am curious if warranty covers suck items.
I dont think that is covered by warranty but It might be more of an insurance claim if it is worth it. I hit a rubber cone when Sandy hit and cracked my passenger foglight. I Bought one from here Infiniti G37 Fog Lights at AM Autoparts and installed my self. Pretty straight forward install. Def cheaper than dealer.

"Easy" fog light replacement
Just for info. About two weeks ago, I took a rock in my passenger side fog light that shattered the front lens. Curiously, the bulb was untouched, but the lens was 80% gone by the time I got home. Anyway, I called the local dealer just to see what they would charge to replace the fog light assembly; quote was $340 installed.
I thanked them politely for the info and then went to Amazon.com and ordered two fog lights from a company called AutoHalo. These are aftermarket replacement parts but had "NISSAN" stamped on the side for what that's worth. I got two complete fog light assemblies (including bulbs) for $103 shipped to the house and had the broken one replaced in less than an hour. It seemed to be an exact functional replacement except that the raised lettering on the front lens was different from the original on the other side. I could have done the whole job in less than an hour but I was puttering around behind the bumper for the first time. I did a search and found a link where someone claimed to be able to pull the fog light without going in from the wheel well, but I found that the washer fluid reservoir is directly behind the fog light on the passenger side and I could find no way to get around it to remove the 8mm bolt that holds the light in. So I pulled the wheel and the lower pan, and then loosened the fender liner enough to get to the back side of the light. The chrome trim ring around the light just pulls off, and then it's just 10mm bolts for the plastic pan, the little plastic push plugs for the fender liner, and an 8mm bolt holding the light in from the rear.
Anyway, if anyone is interested, here's the link:
