Steering Wheel Thickness / S vs Non-S

Can anyone confirm that the steering wheel thickness on the "S" is slightly thicker than the "non-S"?

I have a journey and feel that it's missing the sporty thick steering wheel feel. Any recommendations on where I can get it custom wrapped and stitched?

Thank you.

I've never once heard of a different steering wheel from sport to non-sport

The sticthing on the sport is white as opposed to black on a non-sport.

Also own both, I don't feel a difference in them. The sport has a different steering ratio in the rack, but physically the wheel i believe is identical in size.

Off topic: have you used them?

I have a wheel I want wrapped but want an alternative to sending my wheel to redline in Poland or wherever they are.

I'm pretty sold on the CF wheel that aktif8 got. I had the chance to look at it yesterday and that thing is dead sexy!

Not personally. I saw their work on a GTR at a show. It was great.

Redlinegoods doesn't wrap wheels. They will sell you the parts for you to DIY or have an upholstery shop do it. And yes, they are in Poland.

I have a dallas customs wheel presently - 1/8" extra padding (about the same net thickness as an //M wheel.) It's great. Nothing but great things to say about those guys - they use primo leather.

IIRC, new it was about $450 (including the wheel itself.)

Way back when I had my e36 M3 I had imported a Euro-only e36 M3 GT steerign wheel. It was pretty tattered. I think I send it out to Craft Customs Steering Wheels and Wood Dashes and they did an awesome job with it. They custom added thicker padding, did the M3 color stitching, and the leather was immaculate. They did such a great job that that was one of the two things I should have removed from the car before I sold her. That and the BBS RKs wrapped in brand new Pilot Sports! Stoopid! Stoopid! Stoopid!

A few questions if you don't mind. How do you like the 1/8" padding? Does it give the wheel a more plush and comfortable feel when gripping it or is it just thicker rimmed? Do you happen to have any pics of yours or could you take some to post? This has been on my interior mod to do list along with a few other things that I haven 't gotten around to.

And do you mean that you purchased the wheel and had it wrapped for $450, or did you send them your own wheel and have them wrap it for that price?
