Light scratches on Paint
Light scratches on Paint
Hello Everyone,
My name is Brian, and I just have a 2013 IPL that I purchased less than a month ago. The exterior is Malbec Black, and I was wondering if anyone else has had issues where you see small lines/scratches that easily appear on the paint?
I had the Paint Protection Kit from the dealer (package for 5 years maintenance, 5 years wheel+tire, and 7 years interior+exterior), and now I am starting to get all OCD about the little lines everywhere...the car was brand new, had 12 miles on it, and I am curious to see if its something serious..?
Lastly, I know this might be a dumb question, but has anyone had issues with their tow hook license plate mount? I have the plate mounted on the right-most notch (if you are facing the car), and am worried about it moving..
Thanks in advance for the help! I added a couple pics just for fun (but can't really capture the small lines in the paint so I gave up)

Hey Brian, welcome to the site, nice IPL you've got!
Unfortunately Infiniti paint has some of the softest clearcoat in the industry and is very prone to swirls & scratches. A light polish w/ a random orbit buffer should get it shined up showroom fresh followed by a quality carnauba wax. Got to be very careful w/ drying towels, get some quality microfiber towels that are light colored so you can see if any grit is in them, this darn paint scratches if you look at it wrong

Use a thread locking compound (like Loctite) on the license plate mount and torque it down; it will stay put...
BTW, welcome to the forum!
