G37 Vert Hood Question

I have a 2011 vert, and the hood has a bunch of scratches/blotches from the guy I bought it from. I think he parked under a sap tree and/or did a lot of highway miles. Can someone give me some advice:

1) I would like to get it repainted, but worry that the hood color won't match the side panels when it is done. Also, will it look like it has been in a wreck since people in the "know" can tell if it has been repainted?
2) I looked on Infiniti's parts website for a replacement hood which costs $700. If I purchase one, will it come already painted in graphite shadow, or is that an additional charge.

Any advice on what I should do is greatly appreciated. The car is so freaking gorgeous everywhere else, I am just bummed by the hood!!

Most hoods do not come pre-painted. They're primed, and I think it has to be colormatched anyways. You might just want to upgrade to carbon fiber or something, it's around 700 as is. A good paint shop can probably strip it and get it repainted very closely.

The more research I do, I think I am just going to find a reputable body shop and get the original hood repainted...

Thanks,

Justin

Have you thought of getting it detailed first? Sappy blotches, scratches and what not might be able to be buffed & clay bard'ed out.

I have been mulling that over, but there is this one spot the size of a pinky nail that looks like the previous owner used touch up paint...no one else can really see it, but I can see it every time I look at my car. Plus, I am thinking I want to get it repainted before the sun can fade anything more *(not that it looks as if the sun has faded a single spot on the car...but still...)
