Set it high, low, middle....makes no real difference. Headlights get tripped pretty easily.

I manually turn mine on in the summer, otherwise they auto-flick on in the garage and then get immediately shut off which is bad for them.

If you explore your settings menu from the touchscreen, it is one of the options there. I am annoyed that they don't turn off when manually turned on. I wish there were a setting for that or to just leave them on all the time. I prefer my headlights to run whenever I'm driving.

Yeah, I've tried all the light sensitivity settings and I didn't really notice a difference either. You could just control them manually. Buf what sucks is there's no real way to not have the lights turn on/off quickly. Say you decide to just control them manually... You have to pass through AUTO from OFF to full ON. If it's during a time when the lights would automatically turn on, they'll turn on when you pass through AUTO, off again when you get to the parking lights, then back on again when you get to full ON. Sucks either way.

Yeah I hate this too. I wish there was a setting to completely disable auto headlights to avoid this issue.

The light stalk should be redesigned with AUTO at the top. I think AUTO > OFF > PARKING > ON would solve the problem.

If you turn them on manually and leave them on when you turn off the car, it gives a solid warning tone when you open the door. If you leave them on, they will turn off on their own after several minutes. I don't know how many, but long before they drain the battery.

lol, I meant redesign the light stalk as a possible future change, not as an immediate solution. What you said works too, if you can stand the annoying warning buzzer. Btw, I checked the owner manual and it just states "within a period of time", nothing specific.

There's an option in the Settings for the time duration of how long they are staying on. Mine is set to 30 seconds.

Nah, that setting is for the courtesy delay timer, which is different. Black Betty was referring to the Battery Saver feature, which prevents accidental battery drain if you leave your headlights on.

I agree with the position redisign, I have always thought that. It says right in the manual it's bad for HID's to be turned on/off briefly. So in theory if you want just your running lights you could do it twice. Auto (could come on briefly => ON (they flicker again) => Running Lights. I would like to see it AUTO in one direction, reverse it back to off, then turning in the opposite direction, running lights, full on.

AUTO <== OFF ==> DRL ==> Headlights

If you set the car's alarm off it flashes the headlights on and off every second. Thats gotta be worse than them flicking on and off during driving. So I stopped worrying about it so much.
