It is not as simple as just sanding and painting... The factory plastics are all raw, and very textured. Each piece is painted a total of two separate times to achieve this level of gloss
You do know how to bait the hook don't you. If you would, could you PM me with a price you'd charge to do that again in black with silver metal flake and silver raised lettering? I'm a ways off the fancy stuff just yet but Christmas is around the corner
Out of curiosity, did you have any trouble matching the Malbec Black to factory? Reason I ask, dealer had to repaint my hood. First attempt was too purple and the metalic had no depth. What I mean by that is the stock paint, the metalic particles actually look like they are at different depths within the paint, almost 3Dish. The dealers first attempt was very heavy metalic and looked like one layer, almost like when heavy metalic work was popular in the 70's & 80's. Dealer had to reach out to the factory and got "advice" as to how to shoot it. Second time it matched.

first off, if I repainted a hood I would almost always blend over both fenders to ensure color match. its very difficult to panel paint a panel that large and have it be perfect.
if I DO have to panel paint, I will make several spray out cards and since I mix the paint myself, I have the ability to alter the formula for optimum match. these particular pieces I added more pearls to the color to make it pop more
