My version of LED DRL/Fogs

Its been a while since I've been on here. I've been working on these on and off for the past few months now. But I've finally completed the project. It took some time but I think i got it right and did a good job in my opinion.

Not usually a fan of the individual LED type strips on the front of cars, but it looks nice on yours. Good job

I was thinking the same thing. Normally don't like pearl necklaces, but if it looks OEM, then you did something right.

I like it.

That actually looks pretty cool:
- Do you have a heatsink for the LED's? Are the LED's glued to a metal surface?
- What specific LED's are you using?
- Those look like pretty beefy power resistors - how many miliamps are you feeding the LED's?

Looks great, I like the gentle curve around the side cutouts, looks much better than the straight strips and much better than the Infiniti OEM kit.
Looks like you could generate a decent side income if there's a lot of Gs in your area

looking good. i would also like to know what kind of power supply you are using. Also are those 1W or 3W leds you are using?

Great work!
You did a very nice job on the spacing a curvature with the LEDs.
It's a nice compliment to the 08-09 G37s.
Beats the stock fogs hands-down!

Looks Great! Nicely Done!

I would appreciate some more info on the type and source of the LEDs you used for this project

The LEDs are epoxied to the surface plate. Those LEDs are a 3w, CCT 5500k, 200 lumen bulb. Those are 10 watt 15 ohm resistors that I am using. Based on my calculation a forward current of 750 mA, with a forward voltage of 3.6 V, powered by a power source of 13 V, the correct resistor would be a 10 watt 15 ohm resistor.

Those LED bulbs are 3 watts.

Thanks. You can just google component LEDs and buy each component separately. But you will need to solder them, wire them and have some basic circuit calculation knowledge. Other then that its pretty easy. The LED I'm using is a simple 3 watt bulb, that has a forward current of 750 mA, max forward current 1000 mA, forward voltage is 3.6 V, 200 lumens

Thanks for the additional info.

If anyone is interested, here are some LEDs with these specs (3w, CCT 5500k, 200 lumens):
Vollong 3W White High Power LEDs | Component LEDs | Super Bright LEDs

I would still be interested in seeing what kind of heat sink you used and how you mounted these in your car.

those are great to use. I've use them before. but you can actually get the led and the heatsink separately but you'll need to solder them together. its much cheaper, like $1.25 if I remember correctly. Thats what I did. I ordered from a Taiwanese distributor in bulk. Like 100 bulbs and 100 heatsinks for less then $100 plus shipping.
