I'll probably just get a few cans of De-Icer aerosol spray and keep them in the trunk. Seems like a safe option...

Just a thought.. Maybe invest in a remote starter and leave the heat on.. Probably heat up the windows enough to free them up. Not to mention the warm car inside!

^+1 That is exactly what I was thinking. I have a Autostart and I tell ya it is amazing! Well, I don't leave my car outside either, but It is still great to warm the car up in the mornings! Just turn on all the defrosters when you turn the vehicle off at night then start it up 5-10 min before you need to go in the morning.

The only time de-icer wasn't enough was right after an ice storm, I had a Chevy Blazer. The keyhole was completely iced over, as well as the door jam. Ended up crawling through the tailgate, and giving the door a couple of shoulders to get it open!

The best investment? Probably a garage.
