I like it a lot. Not only it looks great at night, it's very functional to have visibility around your car seat. If you do a lot of night driving, especially with winter coming and daytime cuts short you will like it.

IMO, I would up the Ante and negotiate for a package deal : replace the cabin filter, install Kickplates and Ambient lighting for package price (say, $400 installed all in)...But at my stage of the lease (about 10 months to go) and my so-so feeling about the car primarily due to the 7AT, I'll pass now.

Question: I already have the illuminated door sills on my 09 G37S Sedan. Can the factory interior accent lighting kit be used plug and play with the existing door sills? I called my dealer and they said, "maybe not--we're not sure." Has anyone done this specific installation themselves?

Just installed the ambient light kit this morning. Took 2 hrs, I took my time and read the manual very carefully. Panels are easy to remove but not as easy to put back. I ended up broke one of the plastic clip when I remove the panel behind the glove box, not big deal since they're holding up by 7 screws. I've been very gentle but it seems unavoidable to break something when you open up body panels as this has happen to me in the past with other cars.
If you never installed anything on a car before just save your frustration and take to dealer get things installed. Few hundreds doesn't seem to bad, what do you want to lose, brain cells or money?

Mine came with them and I like them.
The wife has a 2013 Altima that has underneath the vehicle lighting and I like that too.

I read through this thread since it has been resurrected. If you don't want to DIY, consider going to a body shop as opposed to the mechanical service dept. of the dealer. Body techs are the real pros when it comes to removing and reinstalling trim without damage.
