Pretty interested in seeing how this works for you, Newt.
I'm close to pulling the trigger on those white 16 LED units unless Diode Dynamics has something comparable in yellow/amber. I may have to get your amber vinyl tint source if I get the white one
Again John, sorry for the thread derail

Stop apologizing, Newt. It's not like I can do anything about it.

Besides, you're always nice. No worries.

No, we just have the bulbs for now. Still pretty bright but not as bright as those units.

Bumping my old thread here with this current picture. Almost two years later, and I'm still digging the window tint on my fog lenses.

It's been almost four years now with the OEM fogs and Amber tint. As the years went on, the tint was getting nicked to hell. So last fall, I jumped into a Group Buy for a set of Morimoto LED Fog Lights. And like I did years ago, I went with the Amber window tint again. I just think it looks nice against the Moonlight white with chrome rings.

I have one here, but it looks odd. To the naked eye, it looks amber/orange. But to the camera lens, it looks yellow.

Anyway, here's the same pic from this morning...

Like I said, to the eye it's actually orange, and looks exactly like this picture below from four years ago. Although with the LED light source, it's more, well... "sparkly" than this was:

Yeah looks orange here as well. Your monitor must be out of calibration. Looks good.

Rochester -
Do you have any night pic's of those fogs. I currently have hoen bulbs I am very happy with but with the morimoto LED I am trying to see if I can get the same yellow tints as the hoen's.

Thanks

I don't. However I believe there are plenty of pics here:

...although probably none in Amber.

As you know, they're only amber because of the window tint I applied to the lenses. The LED bulbs themselves are a bright white. Really bright, and really white. But the amber tint tones it down.

IDK how functional they are, and don't really care. I just like them for the look... amber turn-signals, amber running lights and amber fogs. And the look even (or particularly) when the lights are off. The amber tint gives it just enough splash of matching color up front, it looks all creamsicle-y on my Moonlight White sedan.

Ah, I apologize. I though you bought the yellow / amber led lights not the white ones. I installed yellow PIAA bulbs way back when and was considering upgrading. I like the window tint on your car but I'm not certain it would look proper on mine especially with the switchbacks on now.
