A well-known misspelling of another JDM company:
I find it ludicrous that you would accuse a company like Top Secret Japan of lacking int he spell check department. That simply can't be true.

Ludicrous? I'm confused. They clearly misspelled "engineering" and then it was simply overlooked it. My point was not to suggest that they do not have adequate spell-checking resources (the picture of their facility below clearly exhibits the correct spelling of the word), but that many of these aftermarket parts companies in Japan are not the huge industrial entities as many believe them to be. Many are family-run operations. Top Secret simply does not have many employees well-versed in the English language. Thus, they simply overlooked the typo in their exhaust mold.

Another example of poor English/spelling on JDM products is the unintelligible, incoherent mess of words on ARC parts.

I would actually be more confident with my JDM product if it was mis-spelt!

I spend a good time in my job correcting spec lists from Nissan Japan.. things like "Wiper Brades" and "Pre-clash seatbelts".. True story

it's not mis-spelled. Start is spelled STRAT in the Japanese kanji to English transcription.

Just kidding. I made that up.

Clearly, I should have included the sarcasm smiley. I thought you of all people would understand that my tongue was firmly planted inside my cheek as I posted that.

I actually considered that after I typed out my response. This interweb thing has me all confused.

Don't knock on the ESL'ers!! (Engrish as a second language) I come from a family full of them! We can laugh at each other about it though.

But on a serious note, how well do you think you could translate English to Japanese? I'm sure the Japanese would have a helluva day with that.

It would actually be pretty sweet if the Start button was in kanji as opposed to English...

That’s an interesting idea. You can hide the second in the glove box and the third in the bin above the rear view mirror. Then you can start (excuse me strat) your car from all three locations.
