HELP! Broke a bulb mount in my headlight

Last night I was trying to install some 6K HID bulbs into my headlights and I accidentally broke the bulb mount. It's the little piece of what looks to be cast iron that the two prongs wedge against to hold the bulb in place. I only broke the right tip so the left side still wedges enough to hold the bulb in place but I'm afraid that the bulb might unseat itself one day. I looked at the bulb mount and it looked like it was only being attached to the bezel with two screws (I could be wrong though). If it is only attached with two screws, does anyone have a broken headlight lying around with a bulb mount that you would be willing to part with? I'd be eternally grateful and will of course compensate you for shipping, etc.

Are talking about the clip that holds the bulb in place?

The prongs that you squeeze together to release the bulb have to clear two little metal extensions on the bulb mount, one on the left and one on the right. I broke the right extension. The prongs still work as I can squeeze them together and get it to wedge firmly behind the left extension. There's just nothing holding the prongs down on the right side and I'm afraid the bulb will unseat.

On a side note does anyone know of any auto salvage yards in Atlanta that might carry this part?

Get me some pictures on what's broken, then I can see if I have that part laying around or not.

I found a pic that shows what I'm talking about. I circled the piece I broke in red. It's the piece of metal that you have to clear when you squeeze the clips together. I didn't squeeze it tight enough and so I broke it off.

Put the original bulbs back in and check if the dealer will replace the headlight assembly.

That's exactly what happened to me as well. I'm hoping that someone here might have a broken headlight that they would be willing to sell to me or if not I'll just check junkyards here in Atlanta. If I can't find anything then I guess I'll have to bring it to the dealership and pretend that the light just stopped working.

I imagine the part would probably be the same but is all good, don't want to make you go through the hassle if we're not even sure it will work. Thanks for trying though. I appreciate it.

Edit: Does anyone know whether the part is the same for the coupe and the sedan?

It's 100% different. I've taken them apart numourous times both coupe and sedan.

Your best place to find one is at eBay. Good luck

i actually went to replace my bulbs last week and noticed that the entire driver side projector unit broke at the mounting points! the whole thing rattles in the headlight now!! the dust cap pushes the ignitor hard enough into the housing that the housing holds itself but when the dust cap is off, the whole unit is loose. Wondering if the dealer will replace under warranty? I have philips 6000k bulbs in there now.

how does this happen???

OP If it's the clip that hold the bulb in place, I have an extra one. I can't enlarge the pic you posted.
