Why no widebody????

We are going on 4 years since the G37 coupe was released. I don't understand why no one has made one yet? I mean beside that TT G37 that we all know about. Just curious as to what other people thoughts are on this.

Because it's neither a higher performance car, nor a car that is campaigned in any sort of race series.

There's zero demand for fitment on wider wheels/tires, and for improved aerodynamics.

The price, hardly anyone would buy it, those who can afford it and want it can just get it custom. Contact High End (they did the TT car you reference) or DTM Autobody, both will make you one exactly how you want it if you're willing to spend the funds.

Never thought of it that way... but it makes perfect sense. I've always had DTM in the back of my mind but was really hoping someone would make a mainstream kit before I'd be forced to go that route.

Been trolling the DTM Facebook page and they do amazing work from what I've seen. Aside funding, the one major setback would be trying to coordinate with them and timing since i'm in MN and I'm guessing they would need the car full time for a decent amount of time. I'll have to visit them the next time i'm in Cali sometime next year.

I would like to see some too, just wondering how good they will look.. i think its hard to make a widebody without losing the original curves, i think its easier to do a widebody on a 'boxier' car than the G. The G will definitely be a challenge to make.

I too want to see what they can come up with. Aside from some front lips/splitters and rear diffusers I haven't seen much in terms of completely new looks for the g37 come out. Maybe it's because I'm young, but I'd really be excited to see a wide body kit for the g37 coupe

Nissan's Infiniti division is their luxury division. The idea of a wide body is an idea geared more towards sports cars. Yes, our cars are sports coupes. However, they're still primarily luxury cars. The G37 is supposed to balance luxury and sportiness. Overall, because Infiniti is geared more towards luxury rather than sportiness, the idea of a wide body doesn't seem to appeal to the G driver.

Such an idea is something that you could expect a handful of 370Z owners to install.

Think of it this way:
Business men will buy the G because they want a sports coupe but they want to maintain luxury at the same time. Some of them happen to be car enthusiasts, however. So they will modify it, but only to a certain extent. The tuner will buy the 370Z because they don't have a need or desire for luxury. The idea of a wide body best fits the 370Z side because it's a pure drivers car.
