illuminated kick plates?

this is an easy question, but the illuminated kick plates are supposed to light up when the driving lights/headlights are on right?

Reason Im wondering is because Im supposed to have the kick plates, but was washing the car before some pictures and I realized neither side lights up now. Do they light up all the time like the dome lights day or night? or just when the headlights are on.

i have a 1000mi left on warranty so i'm thinking i should get this looked at if they're not working.

thanks

The wiring harness taps into the door open switch. Odd that both stopped working. I installed mine but can't remember if there was a fuse or not .... are you dome (aka map) lights working?

Thanks guys, sounds like a trip to the dealer for me. Yes the dome/map lights work fine. I also thought it was strange that BOTH kickplates stopped working, but they might have actually stopped at different times because i didnt even notice them broken until now. Definitely wouldn't have noticed an isolated passenger side problem probably for a while.

Yeah, take your car to the dealer before that warranty goes out. That's just silly.

Well it does matter if they didn't have the illuminated kick-plates from the beginning.

Suggestion: At night turn off the dome lights, and open the doors, they should light. Are the bulbs working? I know that is very obvious, but.....
