$1800 reasonable price for AIT TS body kit?

Is $1800 an unreasonable price to pay for installing, fitting, and painting a full AIT TS body kit? I took my 2008 G37S coupe to a reputable body shop in AZ on thursday along with the AIT TS full front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper.

The guy there said it would be $1200 to install and paint without any modification, but you guys know the AIT TS is nowhere close to perfect fitment. He estimated about $200 for the front, sides, and rear totaling $1800. He will give me an official quote tomorrow. However, he did say he will make it look perfect on the car.

Just wanted to know what you guys paid for installation and painting of your AIT TS and if the price is reasonable. Thanks in advance!

I was going to pay 800 to paint and install my lip and sides, but the fitment was so awful I walked away. I hope you have better luck than I did.

I ended going with the IPL sides, they come painted from the factory and fitment is perfecto!

Seriously though, good luck with the AIT kit, let us know how u make out and post pics.

haha if only you waited another day for me to post in your thread right?

hmmmm... i don't think so man... i had a TS-P lip from Igor and I got it molded to the front bumper, plus paint and installation, plus paint and installation of side skirts for 2300... 1800 sounds kinda pricey... but i mean, honestly... the side will need ALOT of work to make them fit.... the fitment is atrocious.. if they can guarantee you a set price of 1800, then I'd take it... but if they're call you up while they're installing the side skirt and say... hey we need to charge you more for the poor fitment, manpower, etcetc... then i wouldn't do it.

Make them give you a price in writing with no chance of altering it if anything... hope this helps.

That is a very good idea! I never thought of a price in writing or a price cap. Thanks a lot!

I am going to try to haggle them down to my budget of $1400-1500. They said they would try to work with me as much as possible. Ill let you guys know and stay tuned for before and after pics!

+1 on going Authentic, the AIT fitment is horrible, even with all the work done to it

I think, considering the amount of work necessary, $1,800 is a very good, competitive quote for paint and installation of a poor-fitting replica body kit...

I got a final price invoice of $1650 for the modifications, paint, and install today. Innovative Auto guaranteed that it will look clean and will look factory

Although there are A LOT of modifications to be done to the bumper. Lesson learned, will NEVER buy knock-offs again, should have gone authentic lol

The car will be done early next week.
