I just bought a G37 and its prior owner had tinted the headlights. I don't know what grade the tint is, but the car has 6k HIDs and the night visibility is pretty poor. Later down the road I'm gonna either remove the tint and paint the housing black or just replace the headlights altogether.

Why would you de-class your car like that? Tinting headlights look like $hit.

If you're going to get them done, do them right: Paint the headlight housing.

Lol, I was amused. I thought you were still offended. I knew what they were talking about and that looks really sexy.

But don't try to sound like a smarta$$ cause obviously, 80% of the new threads are usually found through "Search" not many bother to look through it before they post new ones. It's just natural.

Tinted headlights is definitely an acquired taste on the G. Everyone is painting the housings, so if you wanna be a bit different then tinting the lights is the way to go. You will lose some headlight output, in my case I lost at least 25% but it's not like I can't see at night, my headlights still do their job. Also when you upgrade your HID's all your doing is changing the color temperature, not the output. 6000k HID's are not any brighter than the factory 4300k.

Here's some pics of my tinted headlights.

Anyway Larry if I could do it all over again I would paint the housings because IMO it looks much better. But if you like the tinted look, by all means go for it.

Tell me about it, to the regular persons eye that knows nothing about modding sure it looks very different and unique. But to a modders eye it doesnt have that "clean" look that everyone wants today. But i dont like how the tint makes the headlights turn yellow like that. Other than that, to each is own.

The headlights don't look yellow because of my tint. They look yellow because 4300 Kelvin color temperature is actually, very close to yellow.

Thanks! Yours is exactly how I wanted mine, mine are so dark you can't see the housing. I think mine would look pretty sick on OB.
