Hi Guys, I am new to the forum and a new G37x coupe owner. This Saturday night when my wife was sitting in the passenger seat she brought to my attention this small pin hole light coming from the area near the power moon roof switch. I figured it must have some purpose, so I opened up the owners manual and couldn't find anything. The strange thing is that the owners manual shows the small oval shaped hole in the chapter referencing the moon roof operation, but gives no explanation on the purpose/function of the light. Any ideas?

 

It illuminates your center console at night. Partially for looks, and partially so you can see stuff at night without destroying your night vision.

pretty cool thing on all nissans, actually caleld a maplight, if you hold something to read even as low as your cup holders that light will still shine light on it. Neat feature.

Most new car makes have it too. My Dad's Honda and my GF's Toyota has them.
