Dent on edge of a Bumper? (brand new car)

Hi everyone, just a quick question that beens bugging me. So yesterday I went to pick up a new 2011 G37S vert but I noticed there's a tiny little dent on the edge of the bumper (it's above the grill where the bumper meets the black weatherstripe) when I got home. I have attached two pictures of what I am talking about (sorry if the quality is poor, was taken with my phone). There are no scratch or scuff marks on the dent. Can someone give me some input on whether they believe the dent is due to an accident or did it came from the factory like this? Thanks in advance!

Likely just something missed from the factory. Call your dealer immediately and let them know. They should take care of it.

Agree that the dealer SHOULD take care of it but I doubt this was missed at the factory (although plausible since was missed at PDI too).
Good luck.

PS - Welcome & congrats on the new ride. Post up some details about your vert...

Thanks for your replies. I have mentioned it to me dealer yesterday and they were glad to fix it for me. They told me to bring it in tomorrow and they will send it to the body shop they use. I am not really worried about the dent, as its only cosmetic and only half an inch (can barely see). I'm just worried that the car has been in an accident while its in the lot and the the dealer did a paint job on it.

When at the dealer ask them how could this happen? I doubt it was in an accident.

I'd take the car to a body shop on my own and get a experts opinion. Of course the dealership will BS you if it was accidentally hit they won't tell you, they didn't tell you before you bought it, why would they just fess up now? They will fix it with some lame excuse. If it really was hit have a body shop manager write a statement and hold that over them. If it was hit and they did not report or carfax it... Maybe youll win another new vert! lol....

it was probably nothing... my vert had a scuff on the front bumper. probably some slight bump while in transit or someone brushed up against it accidentally... dealer buffed and repainted that part of the bumper... no problems.

Thanks again for everyone's reply. I did take the car to a mechanic (a close friend of mine) and he said the same thing stormgate said--that it was probably dented during transit. The dealership will be repairing it in a few days.
