I was playing around with the brightness control switch at the dash and no matter how much i move the brightness to + side.. the brightness will not change at all and as soon as i hit all the way left (+ side) "Brightness Max" the brightness kicks in and it's too bright. Is it how it's suppose to be?

That's how my 2010 coupe and my wife's 2009 sedan act. The gauges are relatively dim throughout the brightness range as you make the adjustment and then you hit max brightness and bam it's super bright.

 

same thing on my 2010. its annoying, since anything but max is too dim for me and max sometimes is too bright :/

 

I had that issue when I first picked my 08 up on a trade. It would go anywhere from low and it would max out midway, then keep clicking till the Sun setting kicked in. Changed out my battery after a couple days from the dealer, and since then my brightness bar would work the full spectrum.

Possibly check into your battery?
