Headlights

newbie question..

So me and some friends were drinking at a restaurant. I ended up backing up my car into a parking space. When we got done drinking apparently someone hit and run me on the drivers side fender. Ever since when I drive at night it seems like the left headlight doesn't project the light the same distance as the right headlights. So I don't really know if its like that or I'm just tripping out. Or do I just have to adjust the headlight?

Any help with this? thanks

Sorry to hear about the accident, the easy way to find out is to park in front of the wall or garage door with headlights facing it and see if you cut off lines are at the same level for both sides. You can easily adjust the level if not.

i may be mistaken, but i thought in general the left headlight does not project as far as the right…

i believe it has something to do with oncoming traffic.

You're correct. Factory left headlights are adjusted to shine lower then the right side to avoid blinding on coming traffic. You can always adjust it back up if you want, but most people don't notice, its not a huge difference

Lol one od the first things I do with my car is to level the headlights. It really irks me when I shine my lights to a wall and see my left lower than the right.
