Window tintintg, is this normal?

I just got my windows tinted today. This is the first car I have ever gotten tinted so I'm not sure what is considered a really good tint job vs a crappy one (besides bubbles and other obvious things any person would consider ugly). Anyways, the guy did a good job but I noticed that he cut the tint short just where the driver and passenger windows meet the black weather strip. I'm not sure if this is normal so as to avoid rubbing the tint against after shutting the door. Anywone else with tinted windows have something similar like this?

I wouldn't consider that unacceptable, but he could have gotten closer to the edges. My tint has almost no gap ( I would guess 1/8 cm)

this is 100% normal and the proper way to install the tint.

Yeah, I would agree with Shumby. I know a lot of professional installers like to make things right and have a nice gap so you wont have any problem in the future.

Ok this picture is a little more clearer, you can see where there is a lip of untinted edge on the window.

Yup just did mine yesterday and they were cut the same, it is to avoid rubbing against the weather stripping so that it doesn't begin to peal.

I think that looks like the installer played it REALLY safe but doesn't look bad... the weather stripping should make it look somewhat uniform

I find that unacceptable.
I watched the tinter trim it right to the edge where the glass edge starts to round off.
I have had at least 10 cars tinted in that manner, never peeled.

I think he was probably trying to make sure the tint didn't get messed up in the future by the rubber seal. I would want it a little tighter tho. Mine has like 1mm clearance.

Unacceptable, mines have zero gap, I have no issues got mines tinted back when I first got the G in 08. So I would say take it to get it re-done. Just my .02 cents

Gap seems a bit too wide IMO. I've had 3 cars tinted and seen at least a dozen others...

That's a pretty big gap. My gap is so small that I can't even see it.
