Nice the old hand held sawz-all tool. Beats Xacto. You thought Dremel chews up the housing too much? I would think a cutting disk with a careful hand would work well, but obviously have tried it myself. Maybe I'll get some junked units and try different tools.

Props to you for just taking it on. The next steps should be interesting. Good luck and post up the pics!

Really dont understand a word you said haha.

It's not a sawz-all, its a razor knife, same thing as an Xacto for the most part. A dremel cuts, but also melts and leaves a jagged looking edge on plastics from what I've done with them. Also there is a lot more room for error when using a tool spinning at 5000 rpm vs making slow controlled cuts with a razor.

left the inner reflectors chrome to keep the lights nice and bright.

No they are basecoat clearcoat from a paint gun.
