Question Need help deciding on Headlight paint combo.

Hey everyone, so getting the headlights done and was having trouble deciding on what to do with the headlights.
I have an o8 OB and I know the standard popular color is black, which I'm leaning towards but was thinking that they wouldn't pop much because of the color of the car. I was one thread of an OB with gunmetal and the photos were crap so I couldn't get a good read on how they looked.

So Gunmetal/formula grey? Charcoal gray? with a glossy black shroud?
or matte black with a gloss black shroud?
any input or photos would be appreciated, thanks!
btw already checked out igor's threads.

With an OB, the housing definitely looks best color matched, then you can go whatever color you want on the shroud.

Leaving it stock looks best on your car's color imo.

What if we try and color match your amber strip and color match shroud. Or do what I just said in gunmetal?

what about a matte black shroud with a red pinstripe around the shroud and gunmetal headlight housing.

That's a possibility too Raul. Black would have a lot of options.

I do agree, without the amber strip, but if I remove that it looks like crap, if I paint amber strip only it looks like crap too.
JMO.
Thanks for the input.

I say go with what we originally talked about. Gunmetal housing, matte black shroud and maybe amber strip too. And perhaps let Raul try that pin stripe idea. Sunday is coming up quick lol. Better make a decision.

I think having both gunmetal + black in the lights would make itverall too dark, hides the headlight design, especially when your car is already black. I'd opt for a color combination that highlights/bring out the design and shapes. A lot of people get caught up thinking about what colors look the best but I think it'd also important to think about how those colors will affect the parts and the complete look/feel of the car when it's done.

^ that is a valid point. OB is tricky because most people paint the housings black, but on OB the car is already black too.

Danny, you have any finished product pictures of OB customer cars for some ideas for Omar?
