Headlight color code diagram, anyone got one?

I know it's a shot in the dark, but I need to find the high beam trigger wire (color). I have something to install that needs to tap into that wire.

TIA

What do you need to get installed. It doesn't make sense to get power from the high beam source.

Our high beams is powered by the same low beam bulb. All it is, is there's a cover that opens up inside the projectors when you activate the high beam. It's the same brightness as the low beam but when the door opens the beams are exploded everywhere. (bi-xenon)

So I'm just curious what you're trying to do?

I know the trigger opens the bi-x shield, but I need the color for this: http://www.f2ptechnologies.com/

Pulled it out of the BMW when I sold it. You flash your high beams twice to open your garage door

Pretty cool. I don't know if you can easily isolate just the high beam power source though.

Pretty cool!

I'll take a look at my spare headlights this weekend. It should be the same wires for the high beam trigger and there's only 2 wires for that. I can get you the color code then you can test it out.

There is another way though. You can tap it through the fuse box located inside the battery box.

That seems like a pretty cool device. Then I thought, "Isn't it just much easier to use the Homelink buttons or the remote that comes with the garage door opener?" Any reason to use this device instead of the easy way?

Just curious...

It would save you the trouble of raising your arm.

You still have to move it to flash the headlights!

I'm sure the OP has his reasons for wanting to do it this way, probably good ones. There's probably things that he's thought of that I just haven't. I'm just curious as to the advantages because maybe it's something that could benefit me too, or many of us.

No home link here, just a Journey w/Sport package. Plus, it came off my old car so I may as well use it as it's "no cost" to me atm.

Also, (1) the garage remote barely fits in the sunglass holder, (2) if you put it on your visor, it leaves an indention over time, or (3) if someone breaks in your car they can easily steal the remote.

One to the high beam trigger wire, the other is ground. Polarity doesn't matter, so it's idiotproof

Gotcha. I forget which options are in which packages, I though all Gs had the Homelink. Thanks for the explanation. Proceed.

The wire harness that powers the HID is connected to the ballast and it's got a steel-wool-like sleeve covering it. But there are 2 small wires (bluish green color) that connect to a plug right below the HID. I think those might be the high beam mechanical trigger. Maybe you can try splicing into those. Good luck!
