so im about to do my valence and halfway masking i thought about something.... would the heat from the exhaust mess up the plastidip in anyway?
like make it melt off or something?

i don't think it would. my old set up was similar and i didn't have any problems with it melting.
I was inspired by your thread to do the same to mine, but the first time didn't come out that great :/. How'd you apply it so the plasti-dip doesn't drip?

Cant go with multiple thin layers because then you cant remove whatever you were sectioning it off with without peeling it from the car. Can't go too heavy because you'll get dripping....
Have to find a comfortable middle ground. I don't know if there is a better solution out there but that is what I've come to realize. At least the drips fade somewhat while drying!
so what's easier to install and better for the paint? Bat's overlay, or plastidip? Got to think about end of lease here.
Kind of subjective. Anyone can pretty much do the plasti dip. Overlays are a little tricky. Price wise: plasti dip is much cheaper. Better for the paint: both are completely fine. I would suggest trying out the plasti dip first, at ~$6 a can its a cheap way to prototype. If you like it, keep it. If not, go with the overlay.

it is a little tricky. i've used it so many times so i know how to properly spray it now. first few tries were a FAIL so I had to redo them.
the rear valence I did 2x. the pic posted above is the latest one. looks better imo.
